Starting May 2020, PMI Netherlands Chapter is going to introduce blog based montly newsletter. In this regard, we'd like to educate our readers to understand the principles behind moving to this new approach. In a blog based newsletter an email communication is sent out to inform members about the latest news, tips, or updates in an group or organization. The point of email newsletters are to keep a community connected, engaged, and informed. Previously PMI Netherlands Chapter used to issue newsletters in pdf format which was sent to our members on monthly basis. Following are some important features of blog-based newsletter which differentiate it from our previous version.

Dynamic - A blog newsletter allows to send out pages from a website in the form of emails or social media posts. This feature of a blog newsletter makes it dynamic as the content can be created on a website, shared instantly and recessed easily in future if needed.

Lean - Using a blog newsletter helps to establish a lean publication process. Usually an newsletter editor is the center point to contact who collects informations from all teams and put together to form a monthly newsletter. In the new setting, editor is still the center point of contact. However, teams are not dependent on the editor to make the content available to members. Teams can publish their own articles and enable sharing through social media. This feature may help our events to interact with members all the time as the frequency of newsletter is only monthly. A monthly newsletter is going to be used to capture interesting post and updates from past and provide information regarding upcoming events.

Agile - As PMI has emphasised the importance of Scrum and Agile in previous years. A blog based letter is a good example and proof of concept for both Scrum and Agile as it helps to learn in the process and enables to improve engagement over time with the end user. With a blog newsletter, it is easy to make and review changes which otherwise take more time. Engagement improves with every run for both our volunteers and members.

Community Awareness - A blog based newsletter shall enable to create awareness about local PMI chapter as our members can easily share articles which are blogposts. This shall enable to increase visibility of PMI NL Chapter among project management fraternity in the netherlands.

Enhance user Engaemenet - These days, in general, people spend more time on phone than on a computer for quick reading. Our new website interface is perfect for mobile reading. Also, going forward it will help up to capture the interests of members through interactive surveys.
