Book Review April | Sapiens - A brief history of Humankind
Starting this month, we are going to start a monthly book review blog. Going forward, our volunteers can reach out to communications team in case anyone is interested to provide a book review of their favourite book.
Journey from Origins to Present day: For the month of April, we'd like to provide a review on a book titled "Sapiens - A brief history of Humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari. The book covers the story of human beings right from origins to what we are today. The english version is written with very simple vocabulary, yet it takes a bit of time to understand all the twists and turns this story takes in various evolution steps.
Interesting questions about us: Author takes us back 100,000 years where about six human species inhabited the earth. Whereas, today it's only us Homo Sapiens. While walking us through this interesting journey, authors answers interesting questions on cities, communities, relegion, nations, human rights, money, bureaucracy, law etc.
This book helps in answering some very basic yet complex questions on human behaviour. It is definitely a must read for those who possess interest in history, psychology and cultures.
