Buddy Program relaunch at the PMI Netherlands Chapter: Growing capacity, building connections & driving impact!

 

At the PMI Netherlands Chapter, we are delighted to relaunch the Buddy Program. We are continuing to build on the foundation of making our members feel welcome, supported, and empowered. The three vision pillars of this program are focusing on growing capacity, building connections, and driving impact.

 

Buddy Program Relaunch Highlights

 

Throughout the past year, a dedicated team of five volunteers has been supporting 17 new members through personalized three-month buddy journeys. This has served to be their first point of contact within the Chapter. Together, we covered topics as highlighted:

• Certification pathways
• Project management career development
• Navigating the Dutch labor market
• Networking opportunities
• PMI Events
• Volunteering
• Earning PDUs, and
• Continuous professional growth

 

By creating an informal, accessible space for open dialogue, the Program has not only helped members better understand how the Chapter works but also enabled them to use available tools and resources.

 

As one Chapter member, Valentina shared:

 

“I received helpful advice on finding a job in our country and loved learning about initiatives like networking opportunities and the mentorship program. The support from peers created a warm atmosphere, and I'm grateful for the connections made along the way.”

 

Valentina’s comment reflects how her initial curiosity led her to a meaningful engagement and unique connections.

 

Buddy Program Outlook

 

In the year ahead, we will continue building momentum through the three vision pillars:

 

• Growing Capacity: Expanding and empowering our team of volunteers who welcome new Buddies.

• Building Connections: Organizing at least one in-person meetup to help buddy circles grow their network beyond virtual conversations.

• Driving Impact: Focusing on high-quality interactions, guiding members to the most relevant resources, and gathering feedback to continuously improve.
