Call for Volunteer Mentors - Refugee Training Program
Are you a PMI-certified professional looking to make a meaningful impact? Initiated by Maria Savushkina, Director of Sustainability and Social Good, PMI Netherlands is launching a Refugee Training Program to support refugees with little or limited background in project management as they prepare for their next professional steps.
This CAPM training program will support 10 refugee students, helping them build practical project management skills, confidence, and direction through structured learning combined with guidance and mentoring.
To make this program successful, we are looking for volunteer mentors - also called buddies - who will be matched one-to-one with participants. As a mentor, you will motivate and support your assigned student throughout the program, encourage course completion and certification, answer basic project management–related questions, and provide guidance on learning progress and exam preparation. Above all, you will be a supportive and trusted point of contact.
The expected time commitment is approximately one hour per week, though even limited availability can make a meaningful difference. Mentors are invited to indicate their availability (such as preferred days, times, and number of hours per week).
This mentoring activity qualifies for “Giving Back to the Profession” PDUs under PMI’s CCR framework (self-reported).
If you are interested in giving back, supporting inclusion, and helping others build a future in project management, we would love to hear from you.
