End Year Event 2024
The PMI NL Chapter’s annual end-of-year event provides an opportunity to reflect on the year’s achievements and look forward to future endeavors. This year’s event occurred at the Westergas Terrace in Amsterdam, offering a welcoming and "gezellig" ambiance that brought meaningful connections among participants.
The evening commenced with a warm welcome to all attendees, setting the stage for an engaging and memorable gathering. Guests enjoyed a thoughtfully prepared four-course meal, with dietary preferences addressed in advance. Throughout the evening, attendees were invited to introduce themselves, fostering deeper connections and making a lasting impression on their peers.
A standout moment of the event was a performance by the accomplished comedian Berend Koen, who infused humor into the realm of project management. His insightful and witty commentary resonated with the audience, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.
The event also featured significant announcements, as the Chapter President introduced the incoming President of the Netherlands Chapter - marking a milestone as the first female President in the chapter's history. Nicole van der Heijden was also recognized and awarded as the Volunteer of the Year 2024, celebrating her invaluable contributions.
The evening concluded with vibrant dancing and heartfelt farewells, leaving participants with cherished memories and a renewed commitment to staying connected within the project management community.
We currently have approximately 1000 members at the PMI NL chapter and look forward to expanding our PMI NL family. If you are reading this and it excites you, feel free to reach out to any of our board members or write to us at communication@pmi-nl.nl
Meanwhile, have a great start to 2025, and enjoy the song by Berend Koen from the memorable evening celebrated on the 7th of December 2024.
PMP
(Parody of 'Let It Be,' lyrics written by Berend Koen Brouwer.)
When I find myself in times of chaos
Anton Zandhuis comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom: PMP
When the scope is creeping
and I do not know what these words mean
It’s time for me to get my: PMP
PMP, PMP, PMP, PMP
It’s time for me to get my: PMP
So I paid a lot of money
and the PMBOK guide was sent to me
I looked inside and got the urge to flee
I gave my time, my money
and my will to live, all to succeed
Now It’s time for me to live my
PM-dream!
PMP, PMP, PMP, PMP
It’s time for me to live my
PM-dream!
So I stood there with excitement,
ready to excel with my new team.
A project full of promise,
so it seemed.
I said, “We néed a RACI matrix,
to divíde responsibility
But they stared at me and asked me, “Who’s Raci?”
PMP, PMP, PMP, PMP
Oh they stared at me and asked me, “Who’s Raci?”
When the team won’t read my Gantt chart,
and the stakeholders, they make me cry
They would understand at PMI
PMI, PMI, PMI, PMI
They would understand at PMI
PMI, PMI, PMI, PMI
They would understand at PMI
WORKING AGILE
(Parody of 'Sweet Caroline' lyrics written by Berend Koen Brouwer.)
Projects would flow
just like a waterfall, but
now we are in a different time
Life goes too fast
it cannot be predicted
you need to be flexible to shine
We set the goals, the backlog’s clear,
the team's aligned, no more fear
TIME TO SPRINT
WORKING AGILE
Oh, Oh, Oh
Projects never felt so good
so good, so good, so good
I’ve been inclined
Oh, Oh, Oh
To believe they never would
We don’t need a boss
Just a facilitator
‘cause we can manage on our own
And we like to talk
Yes, rather soon than later
All of the details must be shown
Tiny sprint, standup time
tiny sprint, standup time
Leave me alone!
WORKING AGILE
No, no, no
Baby I don’t want to talk
WORKING AGILE
No, no, no
Oh, I miss the waterfall
