The Professional Accountants in Europe (PAIE) Netherlands is an association that provides support and activities for members and students of the five CCAB bodies and CIMA residents in The Netherlands. The group offers the opportunity for its members to network, make new business contacts, and obtain guidance on local issues. Technical events, often with a social aspect, are organized for an entire day or at the end of the afternoon and into the evening.

On June 13th, for the first time, the PMI Netherlands Chapter cooperated with PAIE on the technical event, whose agenda was primarily dedicated to project management and was attended by over 60 people. We were excited to be invited to speak at this event and allowed to raise awareness of the importance of project management in the financial area.

Our Partner threon provided the first speaker, Niels Visser, on the topic “Enterprise Agility from a financial perspective," who said after the event: "It was great to be on the stage and present the financial angles of an agile enterprise to this very engaged audience. My main takeaway from the Q&A is that many participants work in organizations that are discovering agile but need to be included in the transition. My message would be, "Expand your influence into those transitions because there is a lot of financial stuff going on in agile delivery."

The second slot on project management was "Project Essentials for Finance," presented by Laura Roversi and Paul Fagan, both PMI NL Chapter members with a financial background. The presentation covered all the main aspects of projects, from creating a project charter to the importance of communication, from success and failure modes to resource engagement, and was very well received and appreciated by the audience.
