How to Unharness the Power of Change - an interactive offer!
Organizational change is something organizations usually want and strive for. Whether it is replacing old strategies and procedures, creating new teams, or adopting new technology, it is familiar to most of us. Still, the way we feel about such changes can be very different.
Therefore, the persistent questions among practitioners and scholars are:
- Why do some employees support organizational change projects while others resist them?
- Why do some employees react to changes more strongly than others?
It is essential to realize that employees want to understand what is happening and what the change means. How will this change affect my job and my future in this organization? Will this change make my life better or worse?
These questions have received some attention from researchers, and studies have identified organizational communication and support as critical factors that facilitate change. Yet, the role of employees’ values, including moral values, remains uncharted territory. People may support or resist a change project for ethical reasons. Different and even opposing values between the convictions of an employee and the ones reflected in a change project may affect how organizational change plays out.
Surprisingly we know little about why, when, and how this happens. For a better understanding of these questions, we need your help!
Have you experienced/are you experiencing any small to significant change in your organization? We would like to learn from you: What challenges were or are you facing?
Join our research project and make a difference. Help our research hosted by the University of Amsterdam to learn more about managing organizational changes.
