Thursday, November 28th, PMI and IPMA awarded the 3rd annual Master Research Awards in Project Management.  Four Master students were honored for thesis in project management by a joint award from PMI Netherlands and IPMA Netherlands.  Jury selection each year focuses on a high-quality thesis that aims to improve project management practice through research.

Nouw Wijtenburg, graduated at the TU Delft, received the golden award for the research into stimulating early warning signs (for future problems). The jury praises the thesis for its scrutiny and for the clear recommendations for the project management practice, therefor enabling project managers to enhance the change of project success.

Based on the near equality of them, two silver medals have been awarded to the other winners. They are Anas Hendriks, Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, for the research in leadership in high risk and highly complex projects and Tara Kinneging, Twente University, for the research in documenting design decisions in civil engineering projects. Both have produced high-quality research which is of value for the project management community.

The work of Arlette Westhof on the relation between risk and returns in wind park investments received an honorable recognition of the jury.
