Launch of the Young Board
We are excited to announce the launch of a long-awaited initiative within PMI Netherlands
Chapter: the PMI Netherlands Young Board.
The Young Board brings together dedicated young professionals and students with the goal
of creating a space for project management enthusiasts up to the age of 35. Its mission is to
engage, represent, and empower the next generation of project managers in the
Netherlands. Through this initiative, PMI NL strengthens the connection between students,
early-career professionals, academic institutions, and the broader PMI community, creating
more opportunities to learn, grow, and connect.
As part of the Chapter’s Academic Outreach, the Young Board will work closely with the
Director of Academic Outreach, Maartje Janszen, to build sustainable relationships with
universities and student communities. Together, we will drive youth-focused initiatives that
support PMI’s mission: creating a world where every project lives up to its full potential for
positive impact.
Made up of members from five different nationalities, the Young Board brings diversity,
energy and fresh perspectives to help build a strong and inclusive community for future
project leaders.
Sergio - President
Brazilian spirit & Dutch discipline. My background is diverse - both culturally and
professionally - and today I leverage that unique mixture to drive AI projects & programs to successful, valuable execution. My biggest strength is staying human, my biggest weakness is being unable to resist a challenge. As President my goals are simple: support the Young Board’s strategic vision in any way possible, and make sure we have a great time doing it.
Mark - Secretary & Vice-President
Dutch student who is currently finishing his MSc thesis in Construction Management &
Engineering. Good at communication and bringing people together. Bringing a Dutch
perspective to the young board, but with international experience throughout studies and
work. As Secretary and VP, I will handle incoming communication, manage documentation,
and support Sérgio in his duties as president.
Antonio - Treasurer
Project Manager with an international background and a passion for bringing structure to
complex ideas. Originally from Italy and based in the Netherlands since 2020, I enjoy
working in multicultural environments and being involved in initiatives that bring people
together. Within the Young Board, I support budgeting and help make sure everything runs
smoothly and transparently.
Shaun - Director of Academic Outreach
I first became involved with PMI during my undergraduate studies in India, where being part
of the PMI student club helped shape my interest in project management. When I moved to the Netherlands, I knew I wanted to reconnect with that same spirit by becoming part of PMI
again. Now, in my role focusing on the Young Board’s academic outreach, my
goal and challenge is to bridge the gap between students and professionals, ensuring that
student members continue their journey and transition into becoming young professional
members.
Mai - Director of Events
Originally from Vietnam, previously lived in Denmark, Slovenia, and Spain, and now based in the Netherlands, I bring an international perspective and cross-cultural experience. With
event project management experience from EU-funded sustainable tourism projects, I aim to
create meaningful events for the PMI Young Board.
