Lockdown: A balcony (reflection) moment of my Life towards version 2.0
Interesting and unprecedented times, never seen before in my lifetime and hope never will happen again. The environment and nature which was accessible freely until a month back is now limited to my balcony.
This reminds me of one of training where I learnt for the first time that one should take a balcony moment to become a successful leader, a better version of oneself. I always thought I would take a week off from my daily routine to reflect on my career, my life so far and make new plans, in short, I will re-wire my brain, re-energize my body and present to the world, Vikram 2.0.
Suddenly, I realized I am unknowingly in the balcony moment of my life (literally); can this be the moment to become 2.0 version of myself?
First week of the lockdown situation was a shock for me, second week went in making priorities to balance my work and family time and now in the third week, my mind says don’t worry, I am getting adjusted to this new (normal) situation. Thinking about the weeks to come, my mind is pushing me to take a minimalistic perspective towards life.
Because of the pace at which the current situation has affected my life, I realized that I do not need as many things as I desire to lead my life successfully. I already feel content with what I have. Size of my house, model of my car and cash in my bank, all concerns I used to have are now overshadowed by only one wish - when can I get back to the nature and breathe without any fear, together with my family and friends?
The grey cells of my brain are now active, re-connecting with my old friends, taking care of my family more than ever; hobbies and interest that were pending for ages are now top of the list. Health is Wealth is an old saying but I feel its importance now more than ever. Whether it is about food intake or exercise, my awareness levels have increased and I am gearing up for version 2.0 when the new normal established, hopefully soon.
Curious to know from my network, your learnings in the current lockdown situation?
