Looking Back at The Leadership Institute Meeting Barcelona 2025
The Leadership Institute Meeting 2025 (LIM) took place this year in beautiful Barcelona. This annual event is designed for board members of European Chapters to learn, connect, and exchange ideas. With 234 leaders representing 43 Chapters across Europe, 54 speakers, and 36 engaging sessions, there was no shortage of inspiration, knowledge-sharing, and opportunities to bring fresh insights home to better serve our members.
A key theme throughout LIM was how to involve younger generations, starting as early as primary school. Since younger audiences learn differently, sessions explored innovative ways to engage them, such as gamification and student-led initiatives. One standout example was the Chapter Student Club: an initiative organized by students with support from the Chapter. Several Chapters shared their experiences and lessons learned from launching these clubs.
Other sessions tackled topics such as positioning Chapters as more than just training providers, even though PMI is, of course, the gold standard in certification. We explored how we can amplify our impact through social good activities and discussed the outcomes of the largest research project on project success.
Beyond the sessions, the networking opportunities were incredibly valuable. It was a pleasure to meet fellow board members, exchange practical tips on Chapter organization and volunteer roles, and build lasting connections for future knowledge and resource sharing.
After three dynamic days, we returned energized and well-equipped with tools, strategies, and insights to strengthen our Chapter. We also realigned our Chapter Strategy and tapped into the latest resources available from PMI Global.
And last but certainly not least, we had the chance to meet in person with our colleagues from the Belgium and Luxembourg Chapters to continue planning the BeNeLux Summit 2025, taking place on October 10th at the MECC in Maastricht. Save the date!
