Meet our board member: Laura Roversi

News

What motivated you to join/continue being part of the PMI NL Board?
My initial motivation for joining the board was a desire to "give back" to the Chapter after benefiting from its many worthwhile activities and events since becoming a PMI member in 2017. When the Chapter announced it was looking for a Treasurer, I thought, "I can do this!" I never looked back. The PMI NL Board and our dedicated volunteers form such an energized and thriving team that it is a true pleasure to be part of it.

What is your role on the board, and what are you most excited to work on?
I currently serve as Vice President and Secretary, a role that keeps me involved in most of our initiatives and all decisions made by the Daily Management Team. I am particularly excited to support the work around Social Good and Sustainability, which is one of the key focus areas in our Operational Plan.

What professional or personal experience do you bring to the board?
I bring many years of experience in Finance, which perhaps explains why I first volunteered as Treasurer! I also have extensive experience in project management and PMO, and have spent my career working in international and highly diverse environments. Together, these experiences help me guide our board in driving initiatives toward successful and meaningful outcomes.

What do you hope PMI NL members gain most from the community?
First and foremost, I hope members take full advantage of the networking opportunities — connecting with fellow professionals, exchanging perspectives, and sharing experiences. Beyond that, I encourage everyone to actively participate in our events and webinars to stay current with the latest developments in the project management profession.

A fun or human touch: something about you people might not know.
I once boarded a train from Italy to the Netherlands with just two travel bags and a plan to stay for seven months — thirty-six years later, I'm still here!

25 years from now...

Twenty-five years from now, you won't remember the project plans that went perfectly—you'll remember the teams you built, the problems you solved together, and the impossible deadlines you somehow met. Projects end, but relationships remain.

Newsletter Editor’s Note:  Each board member brings a unique story and perspective. Stay tuned for the next edition, where we’ll spotlight another leader shaping the future of PMI Netherlands.
