Meet our volunteer: Francis Zwaanenburg

News

Hi everyone,

My name is Francis Zwaanenburg, and I’m excited to be part of the PMI Netherlands

Chapter as a Social Good Volunteer. In this role, I help coordinate initiatives that connect

project management with meaningful social impact, such as PMI4Kids, The Great Walk, and

other community outreach projects.

Professionally, I’ve applied my project management skills in various roles, including as Team

Manager for a professional women’s ice hockey team and as a project manager specializing

in supply chain and operational excellence. With over 10 years of experience in the

pharmaceutical and FMCG industries, I’ve led artwork and labeling projects in packaging

and managed New Product Introductions in international environments. I’m currently seeking

my next project management role where I can contribute my expertise, creativity, and drive

for positive change—so feel free to reach out if you know of opportunities!

What I enjoy most about volunteering with PMI is the chance to collaborate with passionate

professionals and use project management as a force for good. One challenge has been

balancing my enthusiasm for initiatives with the reality that this is volunteer work. I tend to

dive deeply into projects I’m passionate about, so learning to prioritize and create space for

my hobbies and other commitments have been an important area of growth.

I’ve already met so many amazing people through my volunteer work and am excited to

connect with other PMI chapters. I look forward to meeting more members, collaborating,

and growing together.
