PM Skill Builder: Disciplined Agile® – Providing a solid foundation for business agility.
Disciplined Agile (DA) is an agnostic, hybrid tool kit that harnesses hundreds of Agile, Lean, and traditional strategies to guide your team or organization to the best way of working (WoW).
DA is context-sensitive, meaning that rather than prescribing a collection of ‘best practices, it teaches you how to choose and later evolve a fit-for-purpose WoW that is best given the situation at hand.
The Disciplined Agile (DA) mindset is captured in the form of principles, promises, and guidelines:
- The principles provide a philosophical foundation for business agility. They are based on both lean and flow concepts.
- The promises are agreements made with fellow teammates, stakeholders, and other people within the organization with whom there is interaction. The promises define a collection of disciplined behaviors that enable one to collaborate effectively and professionally.
- These guidelines help leaders are more effective in working (WoW) and improve their WoW over time.
At PMI Netherlands Chapter, we support Chapter members continuous engagement by:
- Sharing information/updates and providing guidance to learning and development opportunities;
- Offering special focused events and promoting related projects;
- Participating in the DA global liaison community in developing and sharing best practices.
