With the return to work and face-to-face meetups, you may feel you have forgotten how to connect with others over the last few years. Making business connections is important. 

How Networking adds to Your Success:

1. Helps you be more approachable
2. Builds your confidence
3. Gives you access to ideas and information
4. Let others know who you are 
5. Creates valuable relationships

So how can you connect with others at work, PMI meetings, and more?

1. Say Hello -learn to walk up to a stranger and start a conversation.  
2. Introduce yourself - your name and a handshake can help your contact do to same.
3. Stay open and curious- Don't be nosy, but do ask questions to help you learn about the other person. 
4. Connect and Follow up -If you both want to continue the conversation, share contact details. Follow up with something your contact may find helpful such as an article or Linkedin post.
5. Connect your new contact with others - Connect your connections. If you meet a new member of PMI, why not show them around, make them feel welcome, and introduce them to others?
6. Add Value - If your contact asks for information or job ideas, why not help? But only if you can and feel it is appropriate.  
7. Mentor- One of the best ways to cement a connection is mentoring. So, if the topic comes up, give it a try.
