PMI NL Chapter Partners with PMI Authorised Training Partner Instructor (ATP-I), GO ROHO.

News
PM for Business

ABOUT THE PARTNERSHIP – first partnership featuring Disciplined Agile in the Netherlands.

PMI Netherlands Chapter has signed a partnership agreement with Go ROHO, a PMI Authorised Training Partner Instructor (ATP-I) organization. Though Go ROHO provides professional development services for PMI Project Management Ready™, PMI-ACP®, CAPM®, and PMP® aspirers, we are incredibly excited about what this partnership holds for our growing Disciplined Agile community.

As our Chapter’s Disciplined Agile Champion, I am proud to present this partnership through an interview with the founder and principal trainer of Go ROHO, Priscilla Bakx-Kabai.

ABOUT GO ROHO - Priscilla, please introduce your training organization and share your collaboration goals for 2023/2024.

Go ROHO is an abbreviation for Go Reach One Help One. In Swahili, "roho” means heart, spirit, or soul. I am deeply passionate about people and projects. So the name Go ROHO represents a heartfelt call to action: to help project professionals thrive and succeed by providing training and coaching in skills and competencies founded on a People First Mindset. Since 2020, we have supported 1000+ aspirants worldwide to successfully pass their PMI certification exams on the first try. We are also an official facilitator of Arbinger Netherlands, a Certiport Authorised Testing Center, and an Authorised Instructor of CertNexus.

I am very excited about our partnership with the PMI Netherlands Chapter. The theme for our collaboration goals in 2023/2024 can be summarised as Partnership for Positive Impact. By sharing our collective knowledge, expertise, experience, resources, and networks, we can leverage the power of project management to create a better future today. One of the first initiatives we will work on involves building a Disciplined Agile local community. A community is only as strong as its people in it, so I would like to invite one and all to join us on this new journey!

DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES – Why the focus on Disciplined Agile? And what training opportunities are available to our current and future members?

DA has evolved into an enterprise model for scaling Agile. It is a hybrid toolkit that harnesses hundreds of Agile practices to pragmatically guide you to the best way of working for your team or organization. I think DA is a hidden gem, sometimes overshadowed by other popular and well-known Agile frameworks and approaches such as Scrum or SAFe®.

There have been some heated debates on this topic, and DA continues to differentiate itself from the rest due to 3 unique aspects:

  1. DA is non-prescriptive
  2. DA is context-sensitive
  3. DA is process goal-orientated

DA also offers a different approach to training and certification via a progressive path to Agile Mastery. Depending on your level of agile knowledge, experience, and aspirations, you can tailor your learning journey to suit your unique situation. To determine your readiness, we start with a DA knowledge check. If you score 75% or more, you can go for the Disciplined Agile Senior Scrum Master (DASSM)™ certification. If you score less, you could consider taking the Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM)™ certification course or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® certification. We will publish our upcoming DA events, course schedules, and study group meet-ups in the events calendar. Chapter members are eligible for exclusive discounts and offers, so watch this space for more details!

CHAPTER VALUE – Arina, what does this partnership mean to our Chapter and members?

In the Chapter's Disciplined Agile Journey framework, this partnership offers current and future members access to professional development opportunities through focused webinars/events/activities and professional training courses/advice on Disciplined Agile, which can enhance their skills and knowledge in project management.

This allows our members to stay current and competitive in their respective fields. It also brings industry insights and best practices to the Chapter, enabling us to offer more value to our members and social media followers.

This partnership strengthens cooperation with the PMI ATP-I partners on Disciplined Agile primarily on a local level and ensures a good base for strengthening our DA local community. Additionally, it promotes PMI NL Chapter as an advocate of further development of its Disciplined Agile Journey by establishing its first partnership on Disciplined Agile based in the Netherlands, leading to membership growth and strengthening our position as a leading project management association.

We are happy to kick off our partnership with the talk with Priscilla about Agile Estimation Techniques and Activities using the Disciplined Agile toolkit. Join us on June 15th, 2023, at 12.00 pm and register for the webinar on our website.
