PMI NL education foundation supports NGO efforts

News

PMI-NL Chapter’s Education Foundation team, in cooperation with Project Managers Without Borders (PMWB) (https://www.pmwb.org) helped IHE Delft Institute for Water Education (http://www.un-ihe.org) to organize a project management training for their partners.

Community support projects are often complex, and teams are often facing unexpected challenges in areas they have limited to no control over. Think about nature impact, or local political boundaries, or cultural complexities as examples.

Good project management practice is a key tool to effectively and efficiently deliver the goals for the sponsors. This session was part of IHE’s knowledge sharing and capacity building activities. All partners and project leaders from IHE Delfts partnership program were invited to this session. Thirty-five participants joined the live session, and it was well received.

Agnes Versteegen (PMI-NL) and Deanna Landers (PMWB) led the session and shared the basics of project management, discussing a simplified project methodology based upon experience from PMWB and the PMI methodology. During the session, several examples were given by Deanna Landers to support the theory explained by Agnes Versteegen.
