Themes for 2023
PMI NL Chapter has been using Themes in the past two years to define our communications and organize our events. We based these Themes on the PMI talent triangle since this is associated with learning objectives and PDUs. Just as PMI Global has redefined the Talent Triangle as of 2022, we are changing our Themes for 2023 to be simpler and more aligned with the Talent Triangle.
Why did the Talent Triangle change?
PMI has always been committed to empowering project professionals to develop a robust set of skills. Project professionals now need a skillset inclusive of different disciplines and practices, as well as other in-demand skills.
To help project professionals navigate this changing world of work and embrace smarter ways of working, we have updated the sides of the PMI Talent Triangle to now focus on the following:
- Ways of Working (formerly Technical Project Management)
- Power Skills (formerly Leadership)
- Business Acumen (formerly Strategic and Business Management).
Our 2023 Themes are:
Ways of Working: Focused on predictive, agile, design thinking, or new practices still to be developed, it's clear that there is more than one way that work gets done today. That’s why we encourage professionals to master as many ways of working as they can - so they can apply the right technique at the right time, delivering winning results.
Power Skills: Building Interpersonal skills include collaborative Leadership, communication, an innovative mindset, for-purpose orientation, and empathy. Ensuring teams have these skills allows them to maintain influence with various stakeholders - a critical component for making change.
Business Acumen: Recognizing a growing need for professionals to build their understanding of the macro and micro influences in their organization and industry. Improving their ability to cultivate effective decision-making and understand how their projects align with the big picture of broader organizational strategy and global trends.
These three themes will be part of the future of PMI Netherlands communications and events and our focus on the future of our audience: you, our members, and future members. Part of the focus on themes will be to reconnect with our members in a more profound and compelling way.
In 2023 we will talk more about Themes - for now, know that we are committed to increasing the value of PMI and the Netherlands Chapter to each and every one of you.
