Event Highlight: #EmbracingEquity Conference Engaged, Encouraged, and Mobilized
True to its mission, the 2023 IWD (International Women's Day) brought together 20+ Countries and 719 people to benefit from speakers from PMI Global and PMI Chapters. This event did live up to the press: it engaged, encouraged, and mobilized us to action from the start to finish of this online 12-hour event.

The Key Note session in the morning was filled with data-driven facts to bust the myths and show Women are ready to lead with advanced skills in agile, problem-solving, and collaboration. The State of the Women in Project Management was announced as well. See more on that below.
Sessions including discussions on:
- Setting a new direction in equity.
- Learning to use language better
- Stories of overcoming odds to inspire others
- Pep talks about giving us a renewed focus on our goals
- Public Speaking Demonstrations
We also had the opportunity to network and connect with those close to home and around the globe. We had quizzes to test our project skills knowledge and gained PDUs to keep our certifications relevant.
What did the attendees say about this conference?
- This event was nothing short of AMAZING. I'm looking forward to the next event.
- I've learned about speaking up for myself, and I no longer feel scared to challenge other people on gender parity.
- I will remember and use four Keynote points: EMPOWER, EDUCATION, EMPATHY, and EMBRACE GROWTH.
- It is my first time joining such a conference and I was not sure what to expect - I was NOT disappointed.
- The entire event was inspiring, with best practices, success stories, and a great experience.
- As a man, I was interested to see how things are changing positively (even slowly).
- I will dare to speak more!
- I have learned the difference between Equality and Equity and how to apply this concept in my work and daily life.
- A great variety of topics. I wish I could have been in more than 1 at a time! I can't wait for the recordings to come out!
With these comments, you may want to review the conference, those topics you missed, or the ones you loved most. PMI UK is providing the replay videos available online here.
