AI Agents Made Practical – From Daily Tasks to Project Success
Artificial intelligence is already helping project managers summarize documents, draft communications, and analyze project data. However, much of the effort for project managers still lies in finding information, checking outputs, and deciding what requires attention. AI agents offer a practical next step by helping project managers gather evidence, investigate issues, and prepare recommendations for review.
In this highly practical workshop, participants will explore how simple, supervised AI agents can support common project management activities. Through realistic project scenarios and live demonstrations, attendees will learn how agents can assist with status reporting, daily project briefings, meeting governance, and change impact assessments.
Using a fictional project, the session demonstrates how agents can work with project documentation, retrieve relevant information, investigate dependencies, and prepare review-ready outputs. Participants will also see how to design their own agents by defining goals, knowledge sources, tools, decision-making boundaries, and approval points.
Rather than focusing on complex technical architectures, this workshop concentrates on practical agent designs that project managers can understand, evaluate, and apply in their own organizations.
This session is the ninth workshop in a 10-part series exploring how AI can support and transform project management.
After this session, you will leave with:
- A clear understanding of what AI agents are and are not
- A practical framework for designing simple project management agents
- Hands-on exposure to a live agent build and demonstration
- Examples of agent use cases that can be adapted to your own projects
- Guidance on balancing automation, governance, and project manager accountability
Through live demonstrations, interactive discussions, and practical examples, participants will discover how AI agents can help reduce time spent searching for information, identifying issues, and preparing project updates. The session emphasizes a pragmatic approach: starting with small, well-defined responsibilities, keeping humans in control of decisions, and using AI agents to support, rather than replace, effective project management.
