Young Board – PMI Netherlands Chapter

The Young Board is the heart of PMI Netherlands Chapter’s Young Professionals initiative. It is a team of motivated students and early-career professionals who take the lead in shaping a community for future project managers across the Netherlands.

From organizing events to building academic partnerships and launching certification programs, the Young Board is where young talent becomes leadership in action.

The Young Board is a dedicated committee within PMI NL that:

  • Represents students and young professionals (up to age 35)
  • Designs and leads youth-focused initiatives and events
  • Acts as a bridge between the academic world and the professional project management community
  • Builds connections within the chapter, industry, and international PMI network

The Young Board plays a central role in shaping and growing the community of young project management professionals in the Netherlands. Throughout the year, the board is responsible for organizing key initiatives, including CAPM® training days for students, academic research awards, networking events, in-house company visits, and guest lectures. Beyond events, the board actively collaborates with universities, student associations, and companies to promote project management as a valuable career path.

Board members also lead outreach efforts via LinkedIn and other platforms, and help onboard new student members through initiatives like the PMI Buddy Program. As the first point of contact for young professionals in the chapter, the board ensures they feel supported, engaged, and connected.

Importantly, Young Board members are mentored by experienced PMI NL board members and receive active guidance in developing their leadership, communication, and organizational skills. This makes the board not just a platform for contribution, but also a powerful launchpad for personal and professional growth.

This year, we will recruit 5 board members with the following roles:

  • Chair (President)
  • Secretary / Vice President
  • Treasurer
  • Director of Events
  • Director of Academic Outreach

Board members commit to their role for at least one year and dedicate ~4 hours per week on average. It's an ideal opportunity to gain real leadership experience, expand your network, and shape your future.
