Corporate AI in Practice – Governance, Risk, and Organizational Impact (AI Series #5)
Session 5: Corporate AI in Practice – Governance, Risk, and Organizational Impact
Artificial intelligence is rapidly moving from experimentation to enterprise-wide adoption, but with that shift comes a new set of responsibilities, risks, and strategic decisions. For project managers operating in corporate environments, understanding how to govern AI effectively is becoming important alongside knowing how to use it.
This fifth session of the webinar series focuses on the organizational realities of AI. Moving beyond individual usage and technical foundations, we explore how AI reshapes risk management, governance structures, workflows, and accountability across the enterprise. Project managers play a critical role in ensuring that AI initiatives align with organizational values.
As organizations increasingly embed AI into core processes, questions arise around ownership, responsibility, transparency, and long-term sustainability. This session addresses these challenges head-on, equipping project managers with the mindset and tools to lead AI adoption responsibly and effectively.
This session is the fifth workshop in a 10-part series exploring how AI can support and transform project management. Building on prior sessions covering prompting, application, and technological foundations, we now zoom in on how AI operates within organizations—how it creates value, introduces risk, and demands new governance approaches.
In this session, you will explore:
- How to assess and communicate both the risks and strategic upsides of AI to stakeholders, including extending traditional risk matrices with AI-specific risks
- Data governance challenges, including breaches, re-identification risks, and the implications of the EU AI Act.
- Strategic decisions around AI adoption, including build vs. buy, cost-effective resource management, and the need to track market developments
- The evolving role of the project manager in ensuring AI alignment with organizational values and responsible use principles
- Organizational transformation, including workflow redesign and managing the impact of AI on processes and teams
You will leave with:
- A practical framework for governing AI within corporate project environments
- A stronger ability to identify, assess, and mitigate AI-related risks
- Clear strategies for integrating AI into workflows without losing control or accountability
- Insights into managing AI adoption as both a technological and organizational transformation
As AI adoption accelerates, project managers will have to evolve from users to stewards. This session will help you navigate the complexity of corporate use of AI, ensuring that AI delivers value without compromising trust, governance, or organizational integrity.
Throughout the series, participants progressively develop key capabilities, from structuring AI workflows and mastering prompts to understanding risks, fine-tuning models, building AI agents, and anticipating the future of work.
